How much does 3D printing cost in South Africa?

Small parts start at R50. A part about 5 cm across typically costs R65 to R140, and one about 8.5 cm across R325 to R690, depending on the material. These are the prices our own instant quote gives, and we confirm the final price within 24 hours.

What Changes the Price

Size and weight
More plastic and more print time. The same PLA part costs R65 at 5 cm and R325 at 8.5 cm.
Material
PLA, PETG, ABS and SBS are the cheapest. ASA, TPU 95A, silk and wood PLA and carbon fibre PLA cost more, and polycarbonate costs the most of the materials we price online. Nylon, PVA, HIPS, PP and metal-filled PLA are quoted on request.
Infill
A medium PLA part at 20% infill is R65; printed solid at 100% it is R205. Choose the strength the part needs, not more.
Print quality
Draft, standard and premium change the print time. A medium PLA part is R60 at draft, R65 at standard and R80 at premium.
Quantity
The instant quote multiplies one part by the quantity. Larger runs are usually cheaper per part once we confirm the quote.
Design, finishing and delivery
If you need a part designed, we quote the design with the print. Delivery is separate and goes anywhere in South Africa via PUDO lockers.

Questions We Get Asked

What is the cheapest 3D print I can get?

Our minimum price is R50, which covers handling on very small parts. A part about 2.5 cm across prices at the minimum in every material we quote online.

Is the instant quote the final price?

No. It is an estimate from the part's volume, material, infill, quality and quantity. A person checks the model and confirms the final price within 24 hours. Tall, thin or support-heavy shapes can take longer than the estimate assumes, so treat it as a starting point.

Does the price include delivery?

No. Delivery is quoted separately. We ship anywhere in South Africa via PUDO lockers.

Why do some materials cost more?

The filament itself costs more per kilogram. PLA, PETG, ABS and SBS are the cheapest we quote; ASA, TPU 95A, silk and wood PLA and carbon fibre PLA cost more, and polycarbonate is the most expensive of the materials we price online.

Is it cheaper per part if I order more than one?

The instant quote multiplies the single-part price by the quantity and does not model a volume discount, so for larger runs the confirmed quote usually comes in lower. Ask for a batch quote if you need tens or hundreds.

What if I don't have a 3D model?

Send a photo next to a ruler, a sketch with the key measurements, or describe what the part must do. We quote the design work along with the print.
