ThinkerPrint (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates thinkerprint.co.za. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how it’s handled, in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Information we collect

  • Contact & quote details — name, email address, and the details of your print request when you submit the quote form.
  • Uploaded files — CAD/3D model files (e.g. STL, OBJ, STEP) you upload for a quote.
  • Account information — if you sign in via magic link or Google, we store your email address and, for Google sign-in, the basic profile information Google provides.
  • Usage data — pages visited and general site interactions, collected via Google Analytics.

How we use your information

  • To prepare and send you a print quote, and to communicate with you about your order.
  • To maintain your account and quote history if you create one.
  • To understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve it.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run ThinkerPrint, each of whom processes data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — database, file storage, and authentication.
  • Resend — sending quote and account-related emails.
  • Google — sign-in (optional) and website analytics.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. This sets cookies in your browser. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still function without them, though quote submission requires a working session.

Data retention

We keep quote requests and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, and as required by South African tax and business record-keeping law.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations.

Security

We apply reasonable technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our database and file storage.
