Prototype to Pilot Run

Check the fit on Monday, revise on Wednesday, run your first batch the week after. We print your prototypes and pilot production in Cape Town, with no mould and no minimum order.

Case study

From prototype to monthly production

NTT-Tech's 4G elevator emergency dialer needed an enclosure that fits a certified device exactly. We designed it in Onshape, printed a first unit to check the fit, then moved to a monthly PETG production run.

Electronics enclosures

What We Print For You

Electronics enclosures

Housings designed around your PCB with mounting bosses, cut-outs and snap-fit or screwed lids.

Form-and-fit prototypes

Physical parts to test assembly, ergonomics and mounting before you commit to tooling.

Pilot production

First hundreds of units for testing and early customers, with consistent quality batch to batch.

Design help

We model your part in-house if you have a sketch, a sample or a drawing rather than a CAD file.

How It Works

  1. Send your brief

A STEP or STL file, a drawing, or a sketch, plus the quantity and where the product will live.

  2. Prototype in days

A first unit to check the fit. Revisions are new files, not new tooling.

  3. Lock the design

Once it fits, we keep the file and print settings on record.

  4. Pilot batch

Print the run in the quantity you need and reorder as you scale.

Questions We Get Asked

Can you go from a prototype to a small production run?

Yes. That is what our NTT-Tech enclosure did: designed, sampled, then produced as an ongoing monthly run. The same file and settings carry from prototype to batch.

Is 3D printing cheaper than injection moulding for a first product run?

For low volumes, usually yes: there is no mould to pay for, and design changes cost a new file. At high volumes a mould often wins on unit price. Give us your target quantity and we will say honestly which makes sense.

Can you design the part or enclosure for us?

Yes, in-house in Onshape. Send a STEP export, a dimensioned drawing, a sample or a sketch.

How quickly can I see a prototype?

A one-off prototype usually takes 2-3 days. Quotes come back within 24 hours.

Which materials suit product housings?

PETG for tough indoor housings, ASA for outdoor and UV exposure, ABS for a classic enclosure plastic, and polycarbonate where heat or stiffness matters.
